Final impressions of our road trip 2015

Blog Post #3

The final kilometers led us from Hungary to Croatia where we found tremendous wildcamping spots, beautiful people and untouched nature. To end our trip with a proper celebration, we met some friends in Pula and attended the Outlook festival there.

We are also creating a little road movie coming in the next months.

After spending some time in Austria, we stayed in a rural village in the very north of Hungary, right by the border to Slovakia and Austria.

The guys from the campsite also run a boat rental, we happily accepted this offer and borrowed a canoe for a little trip on the Donau. We also have some quite funny GoPro footage, which will be featured in our road movie.

After a week of hanging out we were fed up with all the mosquitos and wasps sharing the campsite with us, and decided to set forth for Croatia. In Croatia, we spent most time wildcamping on the various islands, Cres and Krk in particular. What we found was really beautiful landscapes with tiny villages, loads of fig trees (yummy!) and really nice travel companions.

After realising that we were surrounded by fig trees carrying ripe figs, basically all of our meals contained them..

Looking back, I'm surprised how fast we adapted to living on the road. This boundless feeling of unconcern will never cease to amaze me. Destinations in 2016 are Portugal and Morocco, so stay tuned!
