Lukas and me continued our journey through Denmark, making a stop in Roskilde, where we visited a Viking ship museum and spontaneously witnessed a rowing competition. Teams from all over the world had to build their own boat from given materials and then make it to a specific point without sinking, which was quite a funny sight.
Employees of the museum still build Viking ships using traditional methods. The next project will be a 36m long ship, similar in size to a ship whose leftovers were found near the museum.
Our first camping spot in Copenhagen, right by the sea. On our first day we visited the Danish Design Museum:
We explored the city a bit further and then headed to Christiania, an alternative community based in an old military base right in the centre of the city.
Badass synchro spotted in the city centre. We quickly made it to Christiania, which can easily be considered the green, laid back part of the city.
Our second camping spot, right next to the water but in the heart of the city:
Waste separation is taken very seriously in Christiania.
I think such a great alternative community living in the centre of a city is rather unique. The mood of the place and all the beautiful houses and spots of Christiania create a magnificient athmosphere. Just when you think you have seen it all, there is something new popping up in front of you.
